Peter’s passion for biking started early—just hours after his older brother removed the training wheels from his first bike, he was jumping ramps, improvising with a winter hat in place of a helmet. His teenage years saw him racing BMX, dragging his parents to every track in New Jersey. But life took him in a different direction as he got into cars and motorcycles, and regular biking faded from his routine for over 30 years. That all changed on a family vacation to Grand Teton National Park, where his daughter suggested they rent e-bikes. In that single afternoon, Peter rediscovered his love for cycling, this time with the added excitement and freedom that electric bikes bring. After buying a fat-tire e-bike, he was hooked and knew he wanted to share this experience with others. Peter founded Max’s Electric Bikes to introduce people to the joy of riding without the barriers of steep hills or fatigue. With a handpicked management team, Max’s Electric Bikes is about more than just selling bikes—it’s about igniting a passion for riding, whether it’s someone’s first bike or their first ride in years…eBikes are a game changer for everyone.  By the way, Max is my beloved mini Aussiedoodle who faithfully nags me to take him on an eBike ride every single day!

Michael is a retired pharmaceutical executive who discovered Electric Bikes in 2023 and opened the Randolph, NJ location May 2024 to strategically expand Max’s Electric Bikes geographic coverage into Morris County, with a test ride friendly location along the Rt 10 business corridor. Michael’s roots in NJ extend back 40 years, and friends and former co-workers visit regularly. Michael now spends his free time exploring new places to ride, with his wife Terry. Finding an active, outdoor activity to do together and explore amazing destinations is Michael’s favorite benefit of eBikes. The opportunity to ride and test out different bikes is a blast and enables Michael to your questions and provide expert advice.

A passionate family man with first priority on my children and family, my personal interests fueled me to start and run International Autosport of Pompton Lakes (a family business) for 15 years. My passion for all things automotive proved successful in the past, and has now further developed into the biking world. Biking has been a great hobby and a positive and healthy way to spend quality time with my family and friends. Now partnered with like minded, fellow entrepreneurs, I bring that same passion into Max’s Electric Bikes. I am fully committed to Pompton Lakes, as a resident with 2 children in the school system, and now 2 businesses based here. My formal training comes from Philadelphia University where I received 2 undergrad degrees in Marketing and Finance and a Masters in Finance. I’m very excited to be a part of the E-bike world and a member of Max’s team here in Pompton Lakes. I’ve lived with my wife and daughter in neighboring Oakland for 16 years and we enjoy many activities and events in Pompton Lakes. Originally from Austin, Texas (“Hook ‘em Horns!”) I’ve been a software developer and consultant most of my career working for a variety of industries including automobile manufacturing, financial systems, oil and gas, and even jewelry manufacturing. In my personal time I’ve always been passionate about exercise and have run several marathons. I also rode motorcycles most of my life and particularly enjoyed touring the country, once riding from Austin to New Jersey and back! After my daughter was born the motorcycle slowly started collecting dust and was eventually sold. And as my knees started complaining more about the running I found myself exercising less and less. So when I tried my first E-bike I was instantly hooked! I can handle the steep hills in this area and have the range to commute to and from nearby towns. I get the workout I want and can explore the many trails in the area as well. Best of all, I can now ride with my family and friends as we enjoy and explore the Northern New Jersey area and beyond! I used to (somewhat) jokingly tell people “The only bikes I’m interested in have motors!” All I know is that I’m happy to be back in the saddle again!

John spent the last 20 years in Big Box Retail, where he honed his skills in operations, merchandising, and strategy. Throughout this journey, he discovered that his ultimate passion was customer service. He believes that doing the right thing for one’s customer is not just a goal but the very essence of a successful business. Before his tenure in retail, John spent six years in the publishing industry. Following that, he spent two impactful years in education, working with students burdened with financial or academic challenges. These diverse experiences have equipped him with a well-rounded perspective that he carries with him every day. A lifelong bicycle rider, John found himself drifting away from recreational cycling as the demands of career and life began to overshadow his passion. However, everything changed during a memorable vacation with his wife, where they spent two sweltering days e-biking around the charming streets of Savannah, Georgia. The combination of fun and utility that the e-bike offered was a transformative experience. It reignited his love for cycling and opened his eyes to its potential as a practical mode of transportation. Despite being advised multiple times not to turn his passion into a profession, John decided to embrace the challenge. With some incredible partners and friends, some old, some new, this has proven to be one of the best decisions of his life. He is now dedicated to sharing the joy and practicality of e-biking, turning his personal journey into a mission that empowers others.
